Camping with the Frontier Girls

I went camping this weekend with the girls. We had a great time but it was 30 degrees and I forgot my sleeping bag. We still had a good time though. There were vines growing on some trees that made swings for the kids. We also roasted smores. This first picture is of the troop leader and L. We made great memories.

Corn maze

We went to a corn maze with the kids tonight. We were also able to milk a fake cow ( Ls favorite part), pet some barn animals, climb in a tree house, ride on a hay ride and play horse shoes as a family. At the end M and I bought a bottle RC and Coke, it brought back memories.

Tabernacle

There was a life size tabernacle display in town that I took the kids to see. I think they enjoyed it but the lecture was long.

Firehouse trip

The Frontier girls group took a trip to the local fire house today. They got to see the inside of an ambulance and climb into a fire truck. The firemen were so good at interacting with the kids. L came right home and told daddy " they had a TV". I guess that's what impressed her the most. H was so excited about seeing the inside of an ambulance since she is so into hospital things.

Historic Brattonsville

We had a great time at Historic Brattonsville today. The girls played with toys from the late 1700s. L plucked chicken feathers to prepare the chicken to be cooked. H was utterly disgusted by this and stayed far away. She said " Those are my animal friends". I wouldn't be surprised if she becomes a veterinarian. They had a wheelchair from the early 1800s on display. H really enjoyed seeing all the doctor equipment. They were able to help prepare pumpkin soup and paint with watercolor. This was one accomplishment learned at the academy on site. We had a great time and cant wait to go back.

Grandparents visit.

My Grandparents came to visit this week. We had a great time and Grandma agreed to speak to the our Frontier Girls group about quilting. Since the girls are working on there badges for sewing it was perfect timing. She showed a bunch of different type of quilts that she had made for us. The girls really enjoyed it and were proud to show off their grandma.
